Good bye to the Wall Street Journal’s Health Blog

The Wall Street Journal has shut down its Health Blog. Brian Reid has a comprehensive perspective on it. The Journal was and still is my favorite newspaper, so I’m sad to see the Health Blog go.
My Health Business Blog was the first blog on the business of health that I’m aware of, and it pre-dated the launch of the WSJ Health Blog by a couple of years. The Health Blog came along at a time when a number of newspapers and other mainline publications were starting up blogs; most have sustained them.
I wonder whether the amateur part-time bloggers will outlive the big publications’ efforts.
